Community Values

This event is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment where all people are treated equitably, with dignity, courtesy, and respect. Each person brings unique experiences, perspectives, identities, and contributions to the community. For some, meaningful participation may involve speaking up, sharing opinions, or expressing concerns. For others, it may involve listening with patience, empathy, and openness. For everyone, it means asking questions in good faith, respecting answers, remaining open to different perspectives, and valuing each person’s role in the community.

We believe our community is strongest when we uphold these principles together and work collectively to create a safe, positive, and supportive event environment.

Shared Community Responsibility Agreement

This event is based on shared community responsibility. The event organizers are committed to protecting the safety and well-being of every attendee. “Shared” means that all attendees also have a responsibility to help uphold the safety, dignity, and comfort of others. We are committed to supporting health, physical, and emotional safety throughout the event.

Health Safety

Attendees are expected to take reasonable care for the health and safety of the community. This includes staying home or stepping away from event activities if they feel unwell, following any published health policies, and respecting the health-related boundaries of others.

Physical Safety

All attendees are required to follow the event’s code of conduct and any published safety policies. This event aims to provide an environment free from harassment, intimidation, coercion, and threatening behavior. Attendees should be aware of and respect the physical boundaries of others at all times. Everyone has the right to say “no,” “stop,” or otherwise withdraw consent from any interaction, activity, or participation. These boundaries must be respected immediately and without pressure, argument, or retaliation.

Emotional Safety

Every attendee has the right to participate in a positive and respectful event culture. Emotional safety depends on trust, clear communication, respect for boundaries, and the ability to raise concerns without fear of dismissal, ridicule, or retaliation. Attendees are expected to communicate respectfully, accept feedback in good faith, respect differing viewpoints, and avoid personal attacks, judgment, or hostile behavior. Individual choices related to personal comfort, health precautions, and boundaries must be respected.

Inclusion and Non-Discrimination

This event welcomes attendees of all backgrounds and identities. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion based on race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, physical appearance, religion, nationality, health status, or any other protected or personal characteristic will not be tolerated. All attendees are expected to contribute to an environment where people feel safe, respected, and able to participate fully.
